On Monday, October 20th, 2025, Town Meeting members unanimously approved Article 7 funding the construction documents and site work and water mitigation design!
Here's the 7th and final design revision.
Thanks to all that came to design meetings, took the survey and participated in getting to a design you all, as our community, want.
Big thanks to JD at Pivot for being a true partner with us and turning the community's vision into an actual design that works. JD had to deal with John, Ted and Tom bringing back buckets of community feedback and making sense of it over and over again.
This process took since June 2024 (over a year)! And we brought him tweaks until the 11th hour.
Over the next several months the Parks department will work with their team and their vendors to determine how the design can become clear construction documents.
Following that they should have clear information on what would go into a funding phase (grants, etc).

At the July 9th, 2024 Parks Department meeting the commissioners reviewed the feasibility study and selected Vernon field as the location for a potential park.
What happens next:
1. American Ramp Company / Pivot will create an initial design. They estimate about 4-6 weeks for the initial draft. They’re basing the design on the input you all gave at the public meeting and the online survey.
2. The public will see the design and will be allowed input. They will also provide an estimate on the cost of the park based on the final design.
3. The funding phase. This is complex and will take time. We don’t know the details yet but will know more in time.
The American Ramp Company will be visiting the proposed sites and will then host a community input meeting about the design.
The meeting will be held on March 12th, at 7pm in room 3 of Town Hall. (This is the select board meeting room located downstairs). The goal of the meeting is to get a better understanding of the design elements that local parkgoers would like to see! The meeting will be an informal meet & greet, to foster conversation and engagement from the community. All are welcome to attend!

The feasibility study is targeted for late February and March. There will also be a public event to collect design ideas from the public. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram for the most up-to-date information.
The Milford Parks Department is in contract negotiations with the skatepark consultants. Upon signing the contract, we expect they will begin the feasibility study.
Meetings are on the third Thursday of each month at Milford Town Hall, room 14.
